Guy A. Fortney came to the firm after graduation from law school in 1996. His practice focuses on medical malpractice, civil rights and document-intensive civil and criminal litigation in both state and federal court. Guy has been instrumental in developing and litigating cases that have resulted in several million-dollar awards ranging from medical malpractice, civil rights, personal injury to toxic torts and complex commercial litigation. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell.

Guy Fortney graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science. In 1996, he graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law with Juris Doctorate where he was a member of the Order of Barristers and Phi Delta Phi and the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Law, Medicine & Ethics, and the Jerry M. Melone Award in Law and Medicine. During law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Baculus in 1995-96 and Managing Editor in 1994-95. Additionally, Guy was the Student Speaker at the University of Tulsa College of Law graduation ceremonies. He is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Oklahoma and American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice and the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association.

He has been recognized as a 2006 Distinguished Junior Alumnus, University of Tulsa College of Law; Oklahoma’s Super Lawyers since 2009; a “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” by the National Trial Lawyers; and a Tulsa Power Attorneys by the Tulsa Commerce and Legal News.

Guy is admitted to practice before the Oklahoma Bar, United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
