Katie A. McDaniel is an associate at Brewster & De Angelis, PLLC. Since coming to the firm in 2014, her practice has encompassed a broad range of practice areas. Katie received her Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2015, after earning a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
While in law school, Katie was an editor of the Tulsa Law Review, and her article The Challenge of “Rationally Understanding” A Schizophrenic’s Delusions: An Analysis of Scott Panetti’s Subsequent Habeas Proceedings, was published in50 Tulsa L. Rev. 243 (2014). She was awarded the Order of the Curule Chair, Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Student Award in 2014, Oklahoma Bar Foundation Fellows Award in 2013-14 and 2014-15, and First Place Family Law Negotiation Competition in 2014. Katie served several leadership roles in law school, including: President of the Women’s Law Caucus in 2014 – 2015, Vice President in 2013 – 2014, and Alumnae Chair in 2012 – 2013; and Treasurer of Phi Delta Phi National Honor Society in 2013 – 2014. She participated in the Lobeck-Taylor Family Advocacy Clinic, co-authoring Cultivating a Successful Future for the Integrated Domestic Violence Court in Tulsa County, a report regarding the best practices of the Tulsa County Integrated Domestic Violence Court. Katie was also selected to compete in the National Health Law Moot Court Competition.
Katie is admitted to practice before the Oklahoma Bar, United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
